We often hear many complaints from Android users saying that their device gets too hot to be used. This is a very common problem and almost every Android phone user has met it. Nonetheless, it is a serious issue at the same time for the reason that the device might explode due to the overheating. Thus, it is necessary for users to get the tips to cool down overheating Android phone or tablet.
However, don’t interpret warm as hot. A slightly warmer feel after playing a game for 15 minutes or more is normal. But if your phone displays an overheating alert, or you find the device is surprisingly hot to the touch, then you should investigate.
The causes for overheating of Android phone can be various. For example:
Overuse of device- Nowadays user is able to run several applications on the device simultaneously in their smartphones. But this can make the phone overloaded and get hot.
A drained battery- Some applications would use a lot of battery, which will not only shorten the service life of the battery but also heat up the smart phone.
Overcharging the device- You need to stop charging the mobile phone when it is fully charged or the redundant energy will make the device heated.
Placing the phone in hot conditions. If you put your phone in sunlight, near the stove or other place in high temperature, it will become heated as well.
So now we can cool down the overheated Android phone according to the reasons mentioned above. In fact, these are some simple and common tips that really work.
It is a direct means to keep your phone away from high temperature areas and put it in a cool place. You just need to change a location and then you can get a normal phone. Cool doesn’t mean cold place. (And keeping it in Fridge is not at all cool) Experts say its ‘an awful idea’ to keep in fridge since your device runs the risk of collecting moisture, or you might strain the components of phone.
The second method is to give your phone a much needed break. After running for a long time, the device must be tired and overheated so you can hold down the Power button on it to switch it off. Then wait for a while to cool down the phone. This step works well at most of the time so you try it as well.
Mobile Case may cause heating up- Your case is a common heat factor that many smartphone users overlook. Many cases are constructed from plastic or have a large amount of plastic. Even those made with leather have the same problem: the phone is insulated, keeping heat in and cold out.
For safety reasons, as the phone gets warm (particularly during high-performance tasks), it needs to radiate the heat away, and the case made from an insulated material prevents this. It’s like exercising in a duffel coat.
Removing your phone from the case is a good option, but if you’re uncomfortable with this (perhaps taking extra care to maintain its resale value), then it is not a viable long-term option.
Applications are the main cause of battery consumption so you need to stop using them when the phone gets hot. Just close the running Apps on your phone and only leave two or three programs work. This could not only solve the Android phone or tablet gets hot issue, but also speed up the device. So, just close the unwanted software on your phone now.
The micro-USB cable-chargers are universal, but that doesn’t mean you should just use any olde cables and chargers for your phone. If your phone overheats while charging, you may look into this aspect.
Different chargers have different wattage and are optimized for different devices. So you should use official chargers from your phone manufacturer.
A software update is able to bring new features as well as bug fixes to Android users so it is also a way to fix Android problems. You can go to Settings> About phone> System updates/Software updates to check whether there is any update available. If there is, just click on it and go with the instructions and update it. This should cool down your phone.
You can select to uninstall the applications that you don’t like or use. That's because applications would make the phone be crowded and heated, removing the useless or unwanted software is a wise choice. Just navigate to Settings> Apps & notifications> App info. You will see all the Apps installed in your phone. Select the unwanted Apps from the list. Next, tap on Uninstall in the App Info page to remove it from the device.
Wiping cache partition on Android phone or tablet is also a way to clean the device and cool it down. This operation would only erase the junk files or useless data on your phone so you do not need to worry about data loss. And the followings are the steps to perform the wiping process.
You can also use an application as your assistant. And while selecting the cool-down software, you can take Cooler Master or Cooling Master into consideration. This tool can monitor the temperature of your phone in real time and then analyses CPU usage to find out the Apps which might be causing overheating. These Apps come with One Tap to cool down which closes overheating apps with one single tap to reduce CPU usage.
When my phone gets too hot to handle, I turn it off for some time and switch it on. Or I might use Cooler Master App for immediate closure of all running Apps. How do you keep your android device cool? Let us know in the comments.
